So I have to admit, I’m not a huge Twilight fan. I haven’t read the books and I can’t wait until the entire money grubbing movie series is over. I know, I know…I should fear for my safety right now. Just typing those words could enlist hoards of fans to come running to the defense of their beloved series. Don’t get me wrong, as a closet lover of Harlequin romance novels I understand how great it can be to lose oneself in a love story. I just can’t stand any more of the squeals and screeches that ring out at the mere mention of “Edward” or “Jacob”. But hey, major kudos to the actors and actresses that have found fame and fortune due to the overwhelming success of the franchise. They just might need those fortunes to replace their hearing someday.
On a brighter note I love, love, loved the dress Kristen Stewart wore at the 2010 MTV movie awards. And for me that is something to squeal about! Form fitting, and just the right amount of sexy and sassy. My first thought was “wow, perfect choice for her and for this event”, my second thought was “I could make that!” (or something similar).
The dress she wore was by Dolce and Gabbana. I’ve searched for a sewing pattern that is similar to the dress but sadly have come up empty handed. The closest I was able to find is the Vogue 8280. If you are a skilled sewer all you have to do is alter the patter to remove the sleeves and hem the dress as short as you dare to go. And by re-creating this look yourself you can also determine just how skin tight you want it to fit.
Usually I like to think about how an adult style could be interpreted for a children’s ensemble, but I draw the line at a skin tight mini dress.
So if you have the time and love the Dolce and Gabbana as much as I do, let the sewing begin.
